Civility- Obama Style

It was January 8, 2011 and Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was about to speak with her constituents in what she called, “congress on the corner.” Suddenly shots were heard, screams penetrated the crowd. It was over in a minute and six lay dead, Congresswoman Giffords near death but her life miraculous saved by quick thinking staff and first responders. The assailant, a troubled young man who will never come to trial as he is obviously insane.

It was defining moment in the Obama administration. The president had to bring the nation together and heal the wounds. This was not an act of political outrage as the shooter had no ties to any political party. No, this was pure insanity and anger, anger at everyone and six lay dead. Obama told us we had live together and heal this wound, the word of the day and the tragedy became civility. He would resonate this word in future speeches and urge all Americans to abide by it.

Now here we are only nine months later and Obama supporters are turning a deaf ear to their leader. James Hoffa was the opening act for Obama in Detroit yesterday and he proved he is just a chip off the block and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. His father was a profane and corrupt labor leader until someone took him out. His body was never found. His progeny is falling right behind in his footsteps. James Hoffa Jr. extolled the union crowd to “take these son of bitches out” while raving against the TEA party and members of the GOP.

Civility- Obama style.

He ranted on: “We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Hoffa said.

And there was more. “President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march…. Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he added.
I am a man of peace. I saw enough war in Viet Nam. We do not need firebrand hysteria like this in the United States. Screaming epithets like Mr. Hoffa will get the democrats nowhere. It only exposes the seamy side of their party and supporters. Pure thuggery.
What bothers me is, “what are they afraid of?” What is making them turn to this vile form rhetoric? How have they been offended? This is America where everyone has a voice and to hear diatribe as filthy as this does no one any good.
Where is Mr. Obama? Did he condemn this? Not likely.
I ask all the democrats out there. What are you afraid of?

Freedom of Thought

Freedom of speech is a wonderful right that all were granted by the US Constitution. But what about Freedom of Thought? From a religious perspective, it is what separates us from the animal world. We have free will and rational thought and they do not. Oh, this would be argued by PETA and other fringe religious groups, but most Judeo-Christian belief is this is what is the essence of the soul. It is a right granted by God, not man, and cannot be modified, altered or taken away. Many have tried, Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Marx to name but a few, but all eventually failed. A huge price was paid in blood by the human spirit but mankind triumphed in the end.

We now live in troubled times where once again there is a threat to our God given right of free will. Only this time it is not  out in the open, it is not armies racing across continents, it is not an outside entity seeking entry into our hearts and minds in surreptitious ways. It is far more insidious.

It is a voice within our own republic, a voice we freely elected, a voice that literally speaks with a forked tongue. This voice promised us to change our way of governing, to let us see the inner workings of Washington, D.C., to change the face and practices of government, to promote bi-partisanship, and borrowing from the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg, promote a government of the people, by the people and for the people, which shall not perish from the face of the earth.

The majority of Americans believed these words. Why shouldn’t they? They represented everything we have believed in, fought for, and died for. Consequently, this voice became the president of the United States of America. It rose to the highest and most powerful office in the world. The voice that came from this office caused nations to quake when it was angered, and to rejoice when it offered succor. It fed, and protected the world. It was not always liked, but it was respected. When America said it would do something, it was gospel, It was counted on.

That is no more.

The federal government seeks not only to destroy our American way of life, they seek to control our actions in how we work, freely participate in our democracy and how we manage our lives. They call it “Card Check” and “Cap and Trade”. The current regime seeks not the favor of our allies but spurns them. Insults them. On his first week in office. The president sent a bronze bust of Winston Churchill that had held a place of honor in the oval back to the United Kingdom. It was rumored to “offend” him. To further insult the British, he did not honor the prime minister of the UK upon his first visit with a formal state dinner. The president said, he was “too tired”.

His promise of bi-partisanship was broken the first month in office when he excluded the Republican party members from all meetings he had with his Democrats on Healthcare.

He eventually got his healthcare bill passed into law via an intricate parliamentary trick. Plus the extensive use of bribes know as earmarks.

He kowtows to foreign governments.

He is afraid of the middle east.

He will not speak to the American people. He has made only two addresses from the oval office, The first on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the second will be  his  announcement that he has won and ended the Iraq war. Let us not forget that Harry Reid, the leader of the US Senate openly proclaimed on the senate floor that the war was lost and the surge a failure.

He seeks to control us in other ways. His appointed attorney general is of questionable character and purpose. This man recommended to then President Clinton to pardon the FALN terrorist who bombed Fraunces Tavern in New York many years ago and killed many people. He also lobbied Clinton to pardon Marc Rich a huge tax evader that was hiding out in Switzerland but whose wife a huge contributor to the Democratic party. Lastly (but by no means the end) he chose not indict the Black Panther thugs who intimidated voters in the last general election. This man is the chief law officer of the the United States.

Each little piece is part of the puzzle that is Barack Obama. Bit by bit, he usurps our rights, ignores the constitution, creates powers for himself that he has no right to, and the masses of voters still think him charming. His approval ratings are soon to be in the thirty percent range but his popularity is above sixty percent. How can that be? He is invading our thought processes, flashing his nuclear smile and confounding us with his oratory.

Who will win in the end? It is up to you, the individual voter. You must vote the Democrats out of office on November 2 and then you must rise up, support your local parties and insure this charlatan is a ONE TERM PRESIDENT. Take America back, don’t be conned, exercise your God given right. Think about what is right for you, and America.
