The Fat Lady Is Still Singing…….

In the previous post I described the democratic party’s role in the demise of America due to the current financial crisis. Now looks look at the GOP and evaluate their role in this fiscal chaos.

One must initially look to the TEA party as the genesis of the current fiscal conservative movement. It began slowly and quickly became a rallying cry for all Americans who were fed up with big government, onerous rules and regulations and most importantly, Obama. The popularity grew so quickly that the democrats never saw it coming when they were swept out of the House and nearly lost the senate. Had it not been for the labor unions out west (Nevada, California) they would have lost the senate.

But something unexpected is happening and it is due directly to the TEA party. A split is rendering the GOP into two separate and distinct factions. It is evident in both congressional positions and those of presidential hopefuls. Michele Bachman has stated unequivocally that she will never vote for an increase in the debt ceiling, Never say never Michele, especially in politics. Speaker Boehner is trying his best to satisfy both leaderships but stubbornly resists any tax increase. These two issues alone are the major cause of the stalemate.

The TEA party congressmen and senators insist they have a mandate from the voters that must be upheld but they are blind to the catastrophe looming just days ahead. Without an agreement, some kind of agreement and a president willing to eat some crow, the following is inevitable.

1. Our triple A credit will be lowered. How much? Anyone’s guess. The direct impact will be a rise in interest rates. For every point the interest rate goes up, it costs the U.S. $1 billion a day. This will be added to the deficit as we have no money to pay for it.
2. Bills will go unpaid. We take in enough money each month to pay the essentials (social security, Medicare, military pay, interest on our current debt). But then the president must make decisions, something he is not very good at. Who doesn’t get paid?

So it’s pretty obvious there is guilt on both sides but this game of chicken is getting really serious and someone has to blink. I doubt it will be Obama as he is too arrogant to change his position (BTW, does anyone know what IS his position?) The GOP must come together and blink in unison. If not, our way of life is gone forever and we have left our children and grand children a legacy of debt and misery.

My friends, I hope and pray that I am wrong.

His Highness Outshines Her Royal Highness

The American press won’t tell you as they are still starry eyed with the anointed one, but he really put on the dog on his latest trip to England for the G-20 summit meeting. It was especially in poor taste since the world knows that America is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy and may well fall into the abyss unless Congress and Obama  agree to cut spending. In fact as I write this the House has just rejected a increase in the US debt limit with more than 100 dems casting votes against it.. The GOP has drawn a line in the sand for Obama. Cross it and be a hero by cutting spending. Hide behind it and be a one term president. American’s are fed up with the man-child and want leadership and a leader who shows some strength of character and plain, old fashioned, guts.

But I digress.

There was little news of what was or was not decided at the G-20. No, the English media were more concerned with the Obama entourage. The anointed one brought no less than 500 staffers with him. Included were 200 secret service agents (after all, England might be dangerous), six different doctors (was one a hemorrhoid specialist?), and the entire white house kitchen staff (if you’ve ever been to England you know there is no such thing as English cuisine). Plus add to that thirty five vehicles, a marine helicopter, four speech writers and you guessed it, twelve teleprompters. And we cannot forget the “Beast”, the specially armored presidential limo reinforced with ceramic and titanium armor, tear gas cannons, night vision devices and its own oxygen which makes it resistant to chemical and radioactive attack. So being generous in counting that’s about 290 folks. Who the heck were the other 210?

One can only guess how much this cost the American taxpayer. A conservative estimate would be 300-500 million dollars. And we are BROKE!

The queen sat on her throne and watched all this unfold as the duplicate limo’s scurried off in five different directions to confuse the hoards of anarchists lying in wait for the man-child. But there was no attack and there never will be. The reason is simple. No one cares a wit for him and knows he’s a wimp when it comes to foreign policy. To reinforce this, he promised many billions more in foreign aid from a check book that is empty.

Is this guy ever going to get it? I doubt it.

One last note. He has a new czar who name I can’t find but his job is to monitor electronic media and insure the white house knows who all the scurrilous dogs are that criticize the president.

Well pal, HERE I AM, BRING IT ON!

Obamas Hypocrisy

No, I didn’t leave out the apostrophe as I did not mean for the proper noun to be possessive. It is plural and it applies to both Mr. And Mrs. Obama. Let’s take the anointed one first.

All during the posturing and rhetoric that almost led to the first US government shutdown since 1995, the commander in chief of our military forces said if he didn’t get his way, our military would not get paid.

Say what?

The leader of the free world and CIC of the strongest military the world has ever seen was holding that same military hostage to save planned parenthood and NPR from the deficit chopping block. Obama has done a lot things but never has he been this arrogant and stupid. We know he has surrounded himself with fools for advisors, but this takes self aggrandizement to a new level. One can only hope that every man woman and child who is part of our great military system will not forget this.

Now let’s shift to the person some think is really the brains behind this dynamic duo. Michelle Obama announced yesterday the start of project “Joining Forces”. To quote, “This is a challenge to every segment of American society not to say simply thank you but to mobilize, take action and make a real commitment to supporting our military families.”

This woman obviously believes the entire American public, combined with the US Military are nothing but a bunch of mindless dolts. The arrogance, the hypocrisy, the conceit, the superiority, the self importance, the condescension of these two cretins leaves me speechless. There are not enough words to describe my feeling about this ultimate hypocrisy.

It was no accident that this announcement came right after his highness claimed he saved the government. No, this is all a carefully thought out plan and right in lock step with Saul Alinsky teachings.

Read what she said and you will see how cleverly the issue of PAY is avoided. This lets the anointed one use the tactic again and again until he achieves his aim, an America steeped in socialism and totally dependent upon the government.

“Let Them Eat Cake”

Ma Belle In Spain

Recall Michelle Obama’s immortal words, “This is the first time I can say I am proud of my country.” And let us not forget “This is a mean spirited country.” One could easily add now, “Let them eat cake.” But we all know those were the infamous words of Marie Antoinette and her reward was a quick trip to the guillotine. Fortunately for Ma Belle, she can get away with anything here, the good old US taxpayer foots the bill and never complains. But I have had it up to here with the elitist ness of the Obama’s holier than thou attitude, their flagrant disrespect for the office of the presidency and their downright callous and irreverent behavior.

And, I am not alone. Below are the words of Andrea Tantaros who writes op-ed for the New York Daily news. Give it a look.

Sacrifice is something that many Americans are becoming all too familiar with during this economic downturn. It was a key theme in President Obama‘s inaugural address to the nation, and he’s referenced it numerous times when lecturing the country on how to get back on its feet.

But while most of the country is pinching pennies and downsizing  summer sojourns – or forgoing them altogether – the Obamas don’t seem to be heeding their own advice. While many of us are struggling, the First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her “closest friends.” According to CNN, the group is expected to occupy 60 to 70 rooms, more than a third of the lodgings at the 160-room resort. Not exactly what one would call cutting back in troubled times.

Reports are calling the lodgings of  Obama’s Spanish fiesta, the Hotel Villa Padierna in Marbella, “luxurious,” “posh” and “a millionaires’ playground.” Estimated room rate per night? Up to a staggering $2,500. Method of transportation? Air Force Two.

To be clear, what the Obamas do with their money is one thing; what they do with ours is another. Transporting and housing the estimated 70 Secret Service agents who will flank the material girl will cost the taxpayers a pretty penny.

Perhaps it could be that the Obamas, who seem to fancy themselves more along the lines of international celebrities than actual leaders, espouse a different view of sacrifice. When Michelle Obama accompanied her husband to Copenhagen along with best buddy Oprah Winfrey, she billed the trip – an ultimately unsuccessful bid to bring the Olympics to Chicago – as follows: “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the President to come for these few days, so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

A quick jaunt to Denmark is a sacrifice? What portraits in courage!

The Obama modus operandi is becoming clear. From lavish trips to Spain to reportedly flying Bo, the President’s Portuguese water dog, on a separate aircraft to vacation with them in Maine, to a date night in New York City that perhaps cost nearly $100,000, their idea of austerity is really just the lap of luxury, at least for ordinary folks.

Incredibly, the Obamas have long portrayed themselves as precisely such commoners. Just this month, Obama told ABC the First Couple is “not that far removed from what most Americans are going through.” And that “it was just a few years ago that we had high credit card balances, we had two kids, thinking about college. We had our own retirement accounts, wondering if we were going to be able to get enough assets in there.”

If that’s true, why not select a more appropriate destination like the California coast? The scenery is just as gorgeous as that of Spain, and instead of patronizing a foreign country they would be pumping money into an American economy that desperately needs it. Camp David wouldn’t exactly be slumming it, either. A long weekend there would really send a message of responsibility, leadership and compassion. For a couple that has sharply criticized former President George W. Bush so widely, they could stand to follow his example for once and select a more low-key locale, as Bush regularly did in his Texas vacations.

Instead, Michelle Obama seems more like a modern-day Marie Antoinette – the French queen who spent extravagantly on clothes and jewels without a thought for her subjects’ plight – than an average mother of two. While she’s spent her time in the White House telling parents they should relieve their chubby kids’ dependency on sugar and stressing the importance of an organic veggie garden, hopping a jet to Europe to meet with Spanish royalty isn’t the visual the White House probably wants to project. Perhaps they’ve forgotten the damning image of John Kerry, on the eve of the 2004 election, windsurfing off the coast of Nantucket?

I don’t begrudge anyone rest and relaxation when they work hard. We all need downtime – the First Family included. It’s the extravagance of Michelle Obama’s trip and glitzy destination contrasted with President Obama’s demonization of the rich that smacks of hypocrisy and perpetuates a disconnect between the country and its leaders. Toning down the flash would humanize the Obamas and signify that they sympathize with the setbacks of the people they were elected to serve.

In January, President Obama insisted that “everybody in the country is going to have to sacrifice something, accept change for the greater good. Everybody is going to have to give. Everybody is going to have to have some skin in the game.”

If sacrifice is the precursor to change, what will the family that ran on change offer up? Elitist doublespeak won’t cut it.

Our Devisive and Racist President

If you watch Fox news in the evening you have no doubt, seen either Pat Caddell and/or Doug Schoen. They are life long and, and highly respected Democrats and each has worked as a pollster for a Democratic president (see end of article).  I have been watching these two pundits for quite some time and this article below which appeared in todays’s (July 28), WSJ doesn’t show the tip of the ice berg, or a mere break in the ranks of the democratic party. This is the beginning of an all out assault on the Obama regime from within. It illustrates how even democrats (as well as the rest of us) are keenly aware of the devisive and in my owrds, racist, policies and behavior of our president. Once again apologies since this is really not economically oriented but I felt it was significant enough to share with all.

Our Divisive President

Barack Obama promised a new era of post-partisanship. In office, he’s played racial politics and further split the country along class and party lines.

By PATRICK H. CADDELL AND DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN

During the election campaign, Barack Obama sought to appeal to the best instincts of the electorate, to a post-partisan sentiment that he said would reinvigorate our democracy. He ran on a platform of reconciliation—of getting beyond “old labels” of right and left, red and blue states, and forging compromises based on shared values.

President Obama’s Inaugural was a hopeful day, with an estimated 1.8 million people on the National Mall celebrating the election of America’s first African-American president. The level of enthusiasm, the anticipation and the promise of something better could not have been more palpable.

And yet, it has not been realized. Not at all.

Rather than being a unifier, Mr. Obama has divided America on the basis of race, class and partisanship. Moreover, his cynical approach to governance has encouraged his allies to pursue a similar strategy of racially divisive politics on his behalf.

We have seen the divisive approach under Republican presidents as well—particularly the administrations of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. By dividing America, Mr. Obama has brought our government to the brink of a crisis of legitimacy, compromising our ability to address our most important policy issues.

We say this with a heavy heart. Both of us share the president’s stated vision of what America can and should be. The struggle for equal rights has animated both of our lives. Both of us were forged politically during the crucible of the civil rights movement. Having worked in the South during the civil rights movement, and on behalf of the ground-breaking elections of African-American mayors such as David Dinkins, Harold Washington and Emanuel Cleaver, we were deeply moved by Mr. Obama’s election.

The first hint that as president Mr. Obama would be willing to interject race into the political dialogue came last July, when he jumped to conclusions about the confrontation between Harvard Prof. Henry Louis “Skip” Gates and the Cambridge police.

During a press conference, the president said that the “Cambridge police acted stupidly,” and he went on to link the arrest with the “long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.”

In truth, the Gates incident appears to have had nothing to do with race—a Cambridge review committee that investigated the incident ruled on June 30 that there was fault on both sides.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R., Ariz.) has said the president told him in a closed-door meeting that he would not move to secure the border with Mexico unless and until Congress reached a breakthrough on comprehensive immigration reform. That’s another indication Mr. Obama is willing to continue to play politics with hot-button issues.

Add in the lawsuit against the Arizona immigration law and it’s clear the Obama administration is willing to run the risk of dividing the American people along racial and ethnic lines to mobilize its supporters—particularly Hispanic voters, whose backing it needs in the fall midterm elections and beyond.

As the Washington Post reported last week, two top White House strategists, speaking on condition of anonymity, have indicated that “the White House plans to use the immigration debate to punish the GOP and aggressively seek the Latino vote in 2012.”

On an issue that has gotten much less attention, but is potentially just as divisive, the Justice Department has pointedly refused to prosecute three members of the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation at the polls on Election Day 2008.

It is the job of the Department of Justice to protect all American voters from voter discrimination and voter intimidation—whether committed by the far right, the far left, or the New Black Panthers. It is unacceptable for the Department of Justice to continue to stonewall on this issue.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Mr. Obama’s campaign emphasized repeatedly that his minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was being unfairly stereotyped because of racially incendiary sound bites that allegedly did not reflect the totality of his views. In the Gates incident and others, Mr. Obama has resorted to similar forms of stereotyping.

Even the former head of the Civil Rights Commission, Mary Frances Berry, acknowledged that the Obama administration has taken to polarizing America around the issue of race as a means of diverting attention away from other issues, saying: “the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. . . . Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.”

The president had a unique opportunity to focus on overarching issues of importance to whites and blacks. He has failed to address the critical challenges. He has not used his bully pulpit to emphasize the importance of racial unity and the common interest of poor whites and blacks who need training, job opportunities, and the possibility of realizing the American Dream. He hasn’t done enough to address youth unemployment—which in the white community is 23.2% and in the black community is 39.9%.

Mr. Obama has also cynically divided the country on class lines. He has taken to playing the populist card time and time again. He bashes Wall Street and insurance companies whenever convenient to advance his programs, yet he has been eager to accept campaign contributions and negotiate with these very same banks and corporations behind closed doors in order to advance his political agenda.

Finally, President Obama also exacerbated partisan division, and he has made it clear that he intends to demonize the Republicans and former President George W. Bush in the fall campaign. In April, the Democratic National Committee released a video in which the president directly addressed his divide-and-conquer campaign strategy, with an appeal to: “young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 [to] stand together once again.”

President Obama’s divisive approach to governance has weakened us as a people and paralyzed our political culture. Meanwhile, the Republican leadership has failed to put forth an agenda that is more positive, unifying or inclusive. We are stronger when we debate issues and purpose, and we are all weaker when we divide by race and class. We will pay a price for this type of politics.

Mr. Caddell served as a pollster for President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Schoen, who served as a pollster for President Bill Clinton, is the author of “The Political Fix” (Henry Holt, 2010).

Obama-A Study In Conceit

The Anointed One

Although he isn’t scheduled to speak before the joint houses of congress until next week, it seems he has already done so, on several occasions. In fact, he has addressed congress  on two different occasions, already. And, has said nothing. It has been the usual Bush bashing, self aggrandizing message that we have come to expect. So why do it again? Because the constitution says he must. Once each year while in office he must address congress and the nation with the state of the union. It is doubtful he will say anything new. He is still committed into turning America into a socio-fascist society using his phony Robin Hood scenario.

From a visibility standpoint, Obama is the most televised, photographed, web casted, and publicly displayed president we have ever had. Lets look at some interesting facts on his penchant for being in front of the American public.

In his first year as president, Obama has broken all records for talking directly to the American people. According to CBS News, he has delivered 411 public “speeches, comments and remarks” and 158 interviews – more than one public statement per day and roughly an interview every other day. Strangely enough though, he has held only TWO press conferences. It is obvious our boy prefers the teleprompter to make his points rather than  to relying on his quick grasp of facts and issues in fielding quesrtions from the media.

His narcissistic attitude is exemplified by his constant use of “I”, “me”, “myself” to such an extent that you would think he is trying to fix the economy with a massive stimulus of  personal pronouns. He is almost a fixture on magazine covers appearing on everything from Men’s Fitness to American Dog.

And he is given to petulent acts pique when things are not going his way. Case in point, his recent speech in Ohio just after the Boston Massacre. He was angry and it showed. Someone had let him down and by golly, they were going to pay. Well, he will have to fire most of his staff if he wants to lay the blame off on this one. In reality, he has no one to blame but himself. Had he listened to the mood of the American public and read the tea leaves (no pun intended), he would have seen this disaster coming.

His total belief in himself, and of his infallibility, will always be in his way. He really believes he is the anointed one and all hope for America springs from his golden oratory. When confronted, his answer is there is only one way, his way. And  when that doesn’t seem to mollify his interogator, he blames, who else, George Bush. This is really getting old.

He didn’t lose Massachusetts because of Bush. It was his Healthcare bill, his failed stimulus, his lackadaisical defense policies and his total lack of accomplishment.

Have pen and pencil ready for the state of the union address. Lets see how many “I’s”, “me”, “mine’ and “myself” we can count. There should be plenty plus we shouldn’t overlook how many times he blames Bush.
