From The Ridiculous To The Sublime
Well here it is, the October surprise, a month early. His highness has announced he plans to rebuild the entire federal highway system, 4000 miles of rail bed plus a mere 150 miles of aircraft runways. All this for ONLY $50 Billion+. Lets take a closer look at what the flim flam man has actually said.
The federal highway system was started back in the 1940’s and pretty much completed when the last mile of interstate was opened some years ago. It would be safe to say, it took about forty or so years to complete. It is composed of roads nationwide that measure 160,000 miles. The anointed one says he is going to improve, rebuild or add to that to the tune of 150,000. Just do the math. This idiot thinks he can rebuild the entire federal highway system with just $50 Billion. What’s he smoking?
There are approximately 233,000 miles of railway tracks in the America. Almost double the number of road miles. After we finish blowing our wad on the roads, what’s left for the railroads.
Plus there are still the airports to go. There are almost 20,000 airports and about 4000 are considered public. How much will they get? Given each public airport has a minimum of two miles of runway, that’s another 8,000 miles to be dealt with and runways are much more expensive than roads.
Ridiculous but what do you expect from a community organizer who is surrounded by people more foolish than he?
This is merely an election year ploy to fool the labor unions into thinking how many jobs he’s going to “create”. Not very astute people historically run labor unions. In fact, in many cases they are uneducated and have no managerial skills whatsoever. Why else is union membership falling in every sector of the economy. Because they don’t work anymore. I come from a union family and there were times in our nations past when unions had a place in society. But that time has come and gone. Unions today are run by lawyers (out to make a buck) and thugs (who lust for power).
Obama panders to them and they fawn over him like star struck school girls. He offers placebos like “Card Check” which is practically dead. Yet they force millions of dollars from their members to support him and his socialist ideas. All they need to do is look at the state of the socialist economy in Europe and where unions stand. They have no power other than a general strike to cripple an entire country to get what they want. Only 12 percent of the work force in America is unionized and that figure is dropping. When the rank and file finally figure out how they have been used, good bye your highness.
The October surprise is a fraud. It will never pass congress as the Dems are afraid to pass any more spending bills because they know that we know, we are broke. Lets get to the polls on November 2nd and remember, THROW THE BUMS OUT!
